On 20 and 21 September, the Ferrari Challenge moved to Spa-Francorchamps, treating the public to an exciting weekend, packed with intense action. For the seventh round of the Ferrari’s single-make season, approximately sixty 296 Challenge cars took to the track, as part of the Ferrari Racing Days. Setting the illustrious Ardennes circuit alight, the event also welcomed Ferrari ambassador driver Olivier Beretta and Ferrari factory driver Yifei Ye in the role of race advisor.
The Trofeo Pirelli AM contenders saw their challenge on the legendary Belgian track intensify with the arrival of completely unexpected weather conditions, including clear skies, a dry track, and unusually high temperatures for Spa – 23°C in the air and 31°C on the asphalt – which contributed to a fast-paced, tense, race that was breath-bating from the off.
At the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the Zanasi Group welcomed customers and partners into its exclusive hospitality area, turning the Belgian event into an unforgettable mix of speed, racing passion, and top-level networking.
Ninth place for Marco Zanasi in Race 1
Hendrik Vìol secured another win in the Trofeo Pirelli AM, taking him ever closer to the title. Marco Zanasi (Motor Service – Pinetti Motorsport) handled the pace well, showing determination and consistency in the toughest moments, and finishing ninth. Despite not making it to the podium, the Modena-born driver confirmed his growth, solidity, and competitive spirit, demonstrating his ability to navigate such a challenging, highly technical track as Spa-Francorchamps.
Race 2, Marco Zanasi battles bad luck
Race 2 of the Ferrari Challenge Europe at Spa-Francorchamps got off to a difficult start, with an accident at the first corner that led to an immediate red flag. While Marco Zanasi had been in fourth place until then, the Modena-born driver was awarded a drive-through penalty at the restart for a starting grid position error. At Spa, a penalty of that severity meant a return to the pit and a loss of hard-earned ground. Despite the setbacks, Zanasi still completed the race, showing remarkable resilience.
By finishing Race 2 in second place, Vìol became mathematically untouchable at the top of the standings, clinching the 2025 Trofeo Pirelli AM title.
